Why Your Age of Mythology Cheats Are Not Working
This is the most common problem report after Age of Mythology Retold launched. Players type a code they remember from 2002 or the Extended Edition and nothing happens. In most cases, the fix takes less than two minutes.
Fix #1: You Are in Multiplayer
Cheats are permanently disabled in all multiplayer modes. This includes quick match, ranked, custom lobbies, and LAN. Start a single-player skirmish from the main menu instead.
Fix #2: Wrong Case (Classic vs Retold)
Extended Edition and original Age of Mythology require cheat codes in ALL CAPS. Retold accepts any case. If you are on EE, enable Caps Lock before typing ATM OF EREBUS or JUNK FOOD NIGHT.
Fix #3: Edition-Specific Codes
Some codes only exist in specific versions. NINJACONNOR and WRATH OF CYCLONE are Extended Edition exclusives. GREEK TO ME and DEVASD are Retold additions. Using the wrong code for your edition produces no result.
Fix #4: Demo Version
The Age of Mythology demo does not support cheat codes at all. Purchase the full Retold release on Steam, Game Pass, or the Microsoft Store.
